COLLINSVILLE, Illinois (KSDK) – A violent home invasion where police arrested three people has turned out to be a hoax, according to Collinsville police.
Multiple agencies responded to a call in the 1100 block of Hampstead Court, where a woman was being drug out of her home against her will by men dressed in all black and wearing wigs early Friday morning, according to police.
Police arrested three at gunpoint, but the investigation found that the incident was a hoax and no home invasion happened.
Two children who were in the home were not harmed during the incident, but a Madison County Sheriff's deputy suffered a small injury.
The three people remain in police custody and could face felony disorderly conduct charges.
No charges have yet been filed and none of the possible suspects have been identified.
