BREESE, Illinois (KSDK) – A 25-year-old man faces felony charges in the hit-and-run that lead to the death of a 23-year-old woman.
Clinton County prosecutor has charged Jonathan Nast with failure to report a motor vehicle accident involving death and obstruction of justice.
Authorities believe that Nast drove his 1997 Dodge Ram pickup truck along West Fourth Street and hit Lana Albert, according to court documents. Then, a few days later, Nast took the truck to a salvage yard in Murphysboro, Ill. and sold it.
He never reported the accident, according to the court records.
Authorities found Lana Albert dead near Old U.S. 50 Sunday morning. She had last been seen leaving Big Stix Sports Bar and Grill with friends.
