WEBSTER GROVES, Mo. (KSDK) - A former employee of St. Louis Public Schools and ballet studio founder was sentenced Monday for having sex with a 16-year-old student.
According to St. Louis County prosecutors, Torris Caston got seven years for statutory rape, and a pair of three-year prison terms for statutory sodomy. The three-year sentences run concurrent to one another, but are consecutive to the seven-year sentence for statutory rape.
Investigators with the Webster Groves Police Department said Caston had sex with the student at the ballet studio in February 2005. He was arrested in December 2010.
Caston had been an employee of the St. Louis Public School system since 1987, but also worked at St. Louis Community College and Maryville University, according to the website for Caston's Ballet Academie.
