PACIFIC, Mo. - A former Pacific police officer is facing felony drug charges. Prosecutors say he was still with the department when he allegedly stole narcotics.
Arthur Tullock is charged with two counts of felony theft. The Franklin County prosecutor says Tullock is accused of stealing oxycodone and hydrocodone pills from the evidence locker.
Prosecutor Bob Parks says he is only aware of one alleged incident, which was in December of 2013. Parks says Tullock was either fired or resigned from the department in late April or early May. A grand jury indicted him on July 2, and he was arrested on July 8. Court records show Tullock has posted bond and was released from jail.
Tullock's attorney, Talmage E. Newton IV, released the following statement:
Art is aware of the charges against him. I have entered my appearance with the court and am working with the prosecutor's office to obtain the various police reports and see what evidence there is to support the allegations against him. Once we have had an opportunity to review the Government's case we will be able to determine the best course to resolve this matter for Art and is family.
Tullock is due in court for an arraignment in early August.
