LINCOLN COUNTY, Mo. – Police say a fight over a Go Kart led to a Winfield man losing two teeth early Thursday morning.

Deputies with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office were called to the 2000 block of Highway 47 shortly after midnight Thursday for a report of an assault. The victim said 37-year-old Michael Whitman of Troy punched him in his face because the victim wouldn't allow Whitman to settle a debt owed to him with a Go Kart. Two of the victim's teeth were knocked out by the punch.

The victim told authorities Whitman was upset earlier in the day because the victim refused to let Whitman build him a racing Go Kart to pay back the unspecified debt. The victim said Whitman left and returned around midnight still upset, beating on the door until the victim opened it.

Police say the victim told them Whitman entered his home and threatened the victim and a woman inside. When Whitman was leaving, he allegedly told them he would come back to kill them.

Whitman was taken into custody by Lincoln County Sheriff's deputies. He's charged with first-degree assault and first-degree burglary and is held at the Lincoln County Jail on a $250,000 cash-only bond.

Police say he is on parole for another crime. The Missouri Department of Probation and Parole has revoked his parole and has applied a no-bond release.
