ST. LOUIS – A large group of people used rocks and their fists to break into a south St. Louis shoe store.

Police say more than 30 masked people broke into Shoe Carnival on Gravois near Grand. They broke several windows and took a few items, leaving a mess inside and outside of the store.

Authorities say the same group tried to break into a nearby Radio Shack, but were unsuccessful.

Police say the break-in was likely inspired by the looting Sunday night in Ferguson.

No arrests have been made.

More than 30 masked suspects broke into a south city shoe store Monday morning, and looted it.
