ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - St. Louis Homicide detectives have identified the man shot to death while changing a flat tire Friday afternoon as 41-year-old Darnell Martin, who lived just blocks from where he and two other people were ambushed.
Authorities say just before 5:30 p.m., Martin and the other two men were fixing the tire when a gunman in a moving car opened fire, striking two out of the three men.
Police say Martin was struck multiple times by gunfire and was pronounced dead a short time later at a St. Louis hospital.
A 20-year-old man was grazed by a bullet in the chest area and was treated at the crime scene. The third man was not hurt.
Witnesses told investigators the gunman fled in a dark colored Lincoln. That person remains at large.
