ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – The Missouri Commissioner of Education will be in town Wednesday to talk the woes of two ailing area school districts.

Chris Nicastro will attend an open meeting with Riverview Gardens school officials and state leaders at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Reportedly, a similar meeting will take place at Normandy School District Wednesday afternoon, but NewsChannel 5 has been unable to confirm these media reports.

Both unaccredited school districts have been hit hard financially as several students have transferred to area accredited districts in the wake of a school transfer law.

Earlier this month, Normandy School District asked for $5 million in emergency funding as the district spends $1.5 million per month to send students to those districts.
