ROLLA, Mo. – A gas line break caused the evacuation of Missouri University of Science and Technology campus, according to the school's website.

All of the campus's main buildings were cleared Wednesday morning. The gas line break has been traced to the Straunamis-James Hall near 16th Street and Patrick's Lane. Authorities say a contractor hit a gas line, causing the evacuation of the entire campus. Everyone was evacuated safely.

Officials say there are approximately 7,000 students enrolled at the school this semester.

Buildings on campus, with the exception of Straunamis-James Hall were re-opened by 11:50 a.m. Straunamis-James Hall was re-open by 12:30 p.m.
