UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. – University City School District will follow in Francis Howell's footsteps and have Normandy transfer students return to their home district in 2014-2015 school year, according to a district spokesperson.
The Board of Education voted Thursday night. The board also decided not to charge a lower tuition rate for transfer students from Riverview Gardens.
The U City board is considering rate increases at each level, including $12,413 for elementary, $13, 283 for middle and $14,381 for high school students.
Last week, Francis Howell's Board of Education voted to send back Normandy students who had transferred to their district. The board approved a policy that will no longer accept students who do not reside in the district.
This past year, University City schools welcomed 84 transfers from Normandy and nine from Riverview Gardens, according to the spokesperson.
Approximately 80 students from Normandy filed an intent to return in the next school year.
