TAMPA, Fla. - A family of four is on the mend after police say the pregnant mother, her two children, and her boyfriend ingested LSD-laced meat.
Tampa police say the family bought the meat from a Walmart. But a company spokeswoman released a statement saying it's still not clear if the meat was tampered with after the purchase.
Investigators are testing the meat and the family's oven. The family began feeling sick after dinner Monday night.
"There was no indication that we know of right now that the meat tasted funny, it was the physical symptoms that they had which included hallucinations dizziness, rapid heart rate and difficulty breathing were the symptoms relayed to our investigators," said Chief Jane Castor with the Tampa Police Department.
The family is now recovering at home.
A Walmart spokeswoman says its supplier had no reports of similar incidents and the store is cooperating with police to get to the bottom of what happened.
