ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – Where we live could affect our health, at least according to a report card released overnight that ranks all the counties in Missouri and Illinois.

The County Health Rankings report analyzed dozens of factors that impact health. Those include things such as smoking, graduation rates and unemployment. We'll start with St. Louis County. So, how healthy is it? It's ranked 20th out of 115 counties in Missouri, according to County Health Rankings.

St. Charles County is the 3rd healthiest county in the state. One thing that stands out is that St. Charles County ranked No. 1 when it comes to social and economic factors, which includes high school graduation rates, college and unemployment. St. Louis County was ranked 16th in that category.

But on the Illinois side, Madison County and St. Clair County didn't score as high. So, how healthy is Madison County, Ill.? It ranked 76 out of 102 counties in Illinois.

St. Clair County, Ill. is even closer toward the bottom of the list at No. 89.One thing that stands out is that in St. Clair County, 29 percent of children live in poverty. There are 17 percent of children in poverty in Madison County.
