ST. LOUIS – In patients with scleroderma, their bodies make too much collagen, causing inflammation, tightening of the skin, and even damage to internal organs. The disease can be fatal.
Two guests on First @ 4 Monday have been diagnosed with scleroderma: Victoria Babu, a local radio personality and former KSDK anchor and reporter was diagnosed in 2009; and Kelly Ellison, founder of The Relief Foundation, a support system for people diagnosed with scleroderma, was diagnosed in 2007.

On Thursday, June 19 a film narrated by actor and comedian Bob Saget will be shown at the Plaza Frontenac Cinema called "Project Scleroderma: Beneath the Surface." Saget's sister died of the diease, and the movie features Ellison.
