KIRKWOOD, Mo. (KSDK) – A number of break-ins occurred Wednesday night in downtown Kirkwood.

Some of the vehicles were left unlocked while others had windows or locks broken, according to Detective David Smith, spokesman for the Kirkwood Police Department. Among the items reported stolen include an iPad, a laptop computer, electronics, wallets, cash and debit cards.

These items were left in plain view and attract thieves, Smith said.

Two vehicle thefts occurred earlier in the day around 3:20 p.m. in the 2200 block of Marshall Road and the 500 block of S. Kirkwood Road. Six more break-ins happened just after 9:15 p.m. in the 100 block of W. Jefferson, and eight more vehicle break-ins shortly thereafter in the 1200 block of S. Kirkwood Road.

Kirkwood police continue to investigate. No other information is available at this time.

Anyone with information on the break-ins is asked to contact the Kirkwood Police Department at 314-984-6902.
