The city’s Affordable Housing Commission will invest the funds toward getting private investments and other financial resources to develop affordable housing near Metro train stations and bus stops.

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – Mayor Francis Slay announced today a $1 million project that will spur both transportation and housing in the area.

Mayor Francis Slay explained to media the importance of having new housing development in the metropolitan area.

The city's Affordable Housing Commission will invest the funds toward getting private investments and other financial resources to develop affordable housing near Metro train stations and bus stops.

The funding initiative is also a part of the City's Sustainability Plan, which was adopted last year.
