ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – Two elementary school students were hit by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon.

The accident happened around 3:45 p.m. in the 600 block of January Avenue. Capt. Rick Henke, with the Ferguson Police Department, says one student was treated and released at the scene.

A second student, a sixth grade male from Johnson Wabash Elementary School, was transported to St. Louis Children's Hospital for treatment.

The driver stayed at the scene, and does not appear to be at fault.

Jana Shortt, a spokesperson for the Ferguson-Forissant School District, says the victim is listed as stable with no apparent internal or brain injury. He has a bump on his head and has been admitted for observation. He is expected to make a full recovery.
