ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – It is a Thanksgiving Eve tradition in St. Louis. The 27th annual Budweiser Gun 'N Hoses was held at Scott Trade Center and featured 15 fights between area fire fighters and police officers.
For the first time in the event's history, three bouts were contested under mixed martial arts rules. The total number of fights is down from previous years, but organizers hope the event can still rake in close to $250,000 for BackStoppers, the organization that supports families of first responders who die in the line of duty.
The night's one female boxing matchup featured Pari Stocker, who followed in the footsteps of her brother and father when she became a fire fighter for Eureka Fire Protection District in May, and when she stepped into the ring and won at Gun 'N Hoses. Her brother won in 2012 and her father fought in the first ever Guns 'N Hoses.
