WARRENTON, Mo. – Rescue crews with the Warrenton Fire Department saved two horses that fell through a frozen pond late Thursday morning.

The incident happened shortly after 11:30 a.m. When crews arrived both horses were in the middle of the pond.

A chainsaw was used to cut through the ice, allowing the horses to walk to the shore.

Derrick Forsythe with the Warren County Record was able to capture the rescue in several photos.

The horses were checked out after they were rescued and appear to be in good health.
