WATERLOO, Ill. - It's one of the largest security breaches to ever hit an American retailer.
KMOX radio host and Waterloo resident Jon Grayson had to stop at his bank this afternoon because he needed cash.
State bank of waterloo cancelled his debit card as a precautionary measure after he used it at target.
Forty million customers may have had their credit and debit card numbers and security codes stolen between Black Friday and December 15.
Grayson says he uses his debit card often and the timing couldn't be worse.
"It did change my plans in that I am here at the bank on a Friday afternoon. This is not where I normally spend my Friday afternoons but later on tonight had some plans to go out with friends and was planning on using the debit card for that, finishing up some last minute Christmas Shopping, was going to use it for that. Now I just have to make sure there is enough cash on hand to cover it all," said Jon Grayson, KMOX Radio Host.
So far, no unauthorized transactions went through on Grayson's account, but he continues to monitor it daily.
Meanwhile, Target is offering a ten percent discount to all customers who shop there this weekend.
