SEATTLE – There's new information about a contract proposal between the Machinists' Union and Boeing in Washington state.
If the contract passes, work on the Boeing 777X will stay in the Seattle area, and would raise the machinists' base pay to more than $100,000 a year by 2020.
Missouri and Illinois are both hoping to lure the work away. Local union leaders want the machinists to reject the proposal, saying the wage growth is too slow.
The vote on that contract is Friday.
