Hillsboro, MO (KSDK) - A two alarm fire ravaged a single family home in the Raintree Plantation subdivision off Jefferson County Route B in Hillsboro early Friday.
Firefighters were called to respond to the blaze around 3:15 a.m. this morning and found the home engulfed in flames when they arrived. Officials quickly sounded a second alarm as firefighters from several departments, some more than 30 miles away were called to assist in containing the fire.
The majority of the residential structure collapsed into the basement as firefighters were working to prevent the flames from spreading to neighboring homes.
The family living in the home were gone when the fire broke out and there were no injuries reported.
A cause for the fire has yet to be determined and could be difficult due to the extensive damage caused by the blaze.
