COLLINSVILLE, Ill. – Ameren Illinois has restored power to more than 45,500 customers after the winter storm that swept across the state Sunday.
Some isolated outages remain. Most of the outages are from high winds, which cause power lines to cross and equipment to fail. Drifting snow and covered roadways have made some repairs difficult.
Two helicopters have been dispatched for aerial assessments of some compromised circuits to help create a plan.
On Sunday, Ameren Illinois activated its Emergency Operations Center. It remains activated to coordinate storm response.
Call 911 or Ameren Illinois at 1-800-755-5000 to report a downed power line. Never touch a downed wire, and always assume it is charged.
