UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. – University City High School will be closed Friday after a burst pipe caused the building to go without heat.

Deaun Blumberg, executive director of communication and community outreach, says buses did pick up students, but those students are being taken home.

The rest of the University City School District will attend class Friday.

The extreme cold has caused pipes to burst around the St. Louis area this week.

There's no word yet if there is any damage to the high school.
