MOLINE ACRES, Mo. – There's still no progress on critical repairs at the Lewis and Clark Towers in Moline Acres.

Elevator work was scheduled for Friday, but now authorities say repairs crews are only supposed to "assess the situation."

NewsChannel 5's Nichole Berlie had a chance to speak with some residents who say it's not a bad place to live, they just really want their elevators to work.

The elevators have been broken since around Christmas. There was also a water pipe that burst, but residents say that problem was resolved the same day.

Elevator, heating and cooling issues have forced about a dozen people out, but Nichole is told the majority of residents are still living there.

The Riverview fire chief says the goal is to make the needed repairs so "people can live safely."

There's no word on when the actual repairs will occur.
