ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis teen is recovering after fall into a partially frozen lake Tuesday morning.

Capt. Garon Mosby with the St. Louis Fire Department says a call came in at 9:47 a.m. about a 16-year-old boy who had fallen through the ice on the lake in O'Fallon Park in north St. Louis.

The teen was cutting through the park on his walk home and did not realize he was walking on the lake because it was covered with snow. He fell through the ice and was up to his neck in water.

He was able to pull himself out of the lake and make his way to a nearby home for help.

The resident of the home helped him get off his wet clothes and wrapped him in blankets.

Capt. Mosby says emergency officials arrived and took him to a local hospital.

The teen is expected to make a full recovery.
