ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – A downtown St. Louis landmark will shut its doors for good Wednesday.

The Millennium Hotel and the Top of the Riverfront will close for good. The 28-story hotel has been open since 1969. The hotel announced late last year it would close.

In recent years, the building has fallen into disrepair, and the St. Louis Business Journal estimates the hotel could need as much as $80 million in renovations.

There is no word yet on any interest to purchase the property.
