ST. LOUIS COUNTY - An important change is coming in the process for transferring students from the struggling Riverview Gardens School District to an accredited school.

On Monday night, the Children's Education Alliance of Missouri met with parents to make sure that they know Riverview Gardens now requires a face-to-face meeting before students can transfer. The group is concerned that the new requirement will be a barrier for students who want to transfer.

"We're really concerned because if you don't schedule that interview before February 3 there's a chance you wouldn't be able to go thru the process even with all your paperwork," said Lorna Kurdi.

Parents whose children are already enrolled in an accredited district and wish to stay need to fill out a form and send it back to the new school district by Feb. 3.
