ARNOLD, Mo. - A select group of eighth-graders from Windsor Middle School received hands on training last week with the Rock Community Fire Protection District.

According to Ron Harder, a fire district spokesman, students Brittney Moussette, Haylee White, and Reese Lebbing visited the firehouse for a half-day on January 30 to learn the basics of what it takes to be a firefighter. The girls were afforded the opportunity based on grades, leadership skills, and an interest in pursuing a career in the fire department.

All three got to shadow the district's heavy rescue team and were instructed on trying on gear and equipment.

Windsor Middle School is involved in many public education programs sponsored by the fire district.
