MADISON COUNTY, Ill. (KSDK) – Drugs are suspected in three separate deaths that happened overnight in Madison County, according to Coroner Stephen Nonn.

Katie L. Heavey, 29, Dearold Oseland, 38, and Paul Simpson, 40, were each found dead at their respective homes Thursday night and early Friday morning, according to Nonn. Heroin use is suspected in each death.

Heavey's father found her body in her Collinsvillle home and was later pronounced dead around 9:45 p.m. Intravenous drug paraphernalia was found at the scene, according to investigators.

The girlfriend of Oseland found him at his Roxana, Ill. home with drug paraphernalia a little after midnight, and Simpson was discovered in his Granite City, Ill. home around 2 a.m.

Autopsies on each person didn't determine a cause of death, and each await toxicology results, which tested for drugs and alcohol, Nonn said.

Funeral arrangements are pending for each person.

No further information was immediately available.
