ST. LOUIS, Mo. - One person was hospitalized early Monday morning following a crash overnight.

The accident happened before 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of W. Florissant and De Soto avenues in north St. Louis City.

Investigators with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said the driver lost control, sideswiped one tree, and slammed head-on into a second tree.

It took a rescue team 30 minutes to cut the driver out of the wreckage.

Crews on the scene say it took 30 minutes to cut the driver out of the wreckage. The driver was rushed to a local hospital where he remains in stable condition.
