CALHOUN AND GREENE COUNTIES (KSDK) – The Brussels and Kampsville Ferries will reopen Tuesday after being closed for icy river conditions.

Tuesday, the Kampsville Ferry reopened at 10 a.m., and the Brussels Ferry will open at 4 p.m., according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Intermittent closures could occur until icy conditions of the river improve. Ice remains upstream and cold weather is expected during the next several days, and IDOT spokesman said.

Motorists are encouraged to consider the Hardin Bridge for access to Calhoun County.
