ST. LOUIS - The winter of our weather discontent is nearing its end and some of the signs of spring are already blooming. Daylight Saving time ends Sunday (wind your clocks ahead one hour), spring officially starts promptly at 11:57am March 20 and our St. Louis Cardinals migrate home to take on the Reds at 3:15pm April 7.

Now, we rejoin winter already in progress.

Lots of sun today with highs in the mid-30s. The Fat Tuesday celebrations, of course, involve the downtown parade and temperatures should still be in the low 30s at 6:30 p.m. when it starts at Broadway and Washington, and only fall a few degrees by mid-evening.

Clouds move in tonight, with lows in the low 20s; they'll hang around all day Ash Wednesday, with highs in the upper 30s. Wednesday evening there is a slight chance of a flurry or raindrop but only a slight chance of that happening.

With fair skies and highs in the 40s Thursday and 50s Friday we'll all be thinking, "Oh, winter wither thou goest?" Or not.
