ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – The chief financial officer of the Archdiocese of St. Louis will step down at the end of 2014.

Deacon Frank Chauvin will retire from the position he's held since 1998. Chauvin began work as CFO following his 36-year career as a CPA and partner of Ernst and Young, LLP.

Chauvin has handled all of the audits, public reporting and other financial matters of the archdiocese.

He has been ordained since 1986.

The Archdiocese announced a search firm has begun looking for his replacement.
