ST. LOUIS - Get your jig and jog on this weekend in downtown St. Louis with the 45th annual St. Patrick's Day Parade, followed by the 36th annual Michelob Ultra St. Patrick's Day Run.

NewsChannel 5 has put together this guide to answer all of your "Erin go Bragh" queries.*

St. Patrick's Day Parade
The parade steps off at noon on Saturday, March 15, at the intersection of 18th and Market Streets, and proceeds east on Market toward Broadway, then south on Broadway where it will disband.

Approximately 5,000 marchers representing more than 130 "units," including floats, bands, marching units, and large balloons, will participate. A color guard from the 3rd Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment in St. Louis will lead the parade.

Parade founder and St. Louis Irish Consul Joseph McGlynn Jr. will lead the festivities, along with parade committee chairman Tom Stewart; guest of honor and member of the Irish Parliament Charlie Flanagan; honorary parade marshal Denny Reagan, the president and CEO of The Muny; St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay; St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley; and parade director Joe Milligan.

Market Street will be closed from Compton to Broadway at 7:30 a.m. as a result.

Michelob Ultra St. Patrick's Day Run
More than 13,000 runners, walkers and wheelchair racers participated in last year's St. Patrick's Day Run, competing in 13 different age groups for both male and female runners, from under-14 to over-70 years of age.

Runners can register online, by mail, or in person. Any person who registers before Friday, March 14 will receive a timing chip, and only those participants with timing chips will be eligible for prizes. These chips are disposable and do not need to be returned after the race is over.

The fastest way to register is online at StPatsRun.com. The cost is $28 (plus an online fee). Runners can also enter the St. Patrick's Day Run in person at one of five registration spots beginning Monday, March 10 through Friday, March 14: Toolen's Running Start in Shiloh, Illinois; Big River Running's West St. Louis County, South City, and O'Fallon, Missouri locations; and at the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark. The cost to enter in person is $36. In-person registrants will receive a bib number and t-shirt (while supplies last) but not a timing chip.

Late comers can register on the day of the event from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. in the Michelob Ultra Runners' Village at Broadway and Market streets for $40 cash.
