LITCHFIED, Ill. - The town of Litchfield, Illinois "keeping the faith," showing their support for 8-year-old Faith Hartzell who is battling leukemia.
In the town of roughly 7,000, they've sold nearly 2,000 green shirts with the slogan "Keep Calm and Keep the Faith." Along with other fundraisers, the proceeds from the shirts go to help Faith's family.
Friday, about 200 people gathered in the town square, wearing the shirts, to take a group photo to send to Faith, who is in the hospital in Springfield, Ill. But her family says what makes this support even more special is that it is the second time the town has rally around them.
This is Faith's second battle with cancer in the past two years.
"Absolutely overwhelming the support she had the second time around," said her father Shaun Hartzell. "We got it the first time. But the second time it's just unbelievable."
People in Litchfield say they are also planning a bone marrow registration drive in Faith's honor.
