ST. LOUIS - An account of all 164 St. Louis police officers killed in the line of duty is available for purchase at the St. Louis Police Library as of Monday morning.

In 1991, the first edition of In the Line of Duty: St. Louis Police Officers Who Made the Ultimate Sacrifice was released, recounting stories of the then 148 officers who were killed in the line of duty between 1861 and 1990.

The second edition of the book includes 16 more fallen officers, and adds new information and photographs to the stories of the previous 148 officers.

The book, which costs $40, can be purchased at the St. Louis Police Library on S. Tucker, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. If paying being check, the department asks you make the check payable to the City of St. Louis. A mail-in order form is available at SLMPD.org; however, a $7 charge will be added for all mail orders.

The St. Louis Police Foundation donated funding for the research and printing of 2,000 copies of this new edition.
