ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ill. – A ban on burning in St. Clair County, Ill. will be lifted Tuesday.
St. Clair County Emergency Management officials say they have consulted with the National Weather Service and have decided to allow the burn ban to expire April 1.
Drought conditions have improved to D0, which means abnormally dry.
Officials say residents should not consider the lift of the burn ban to be encouragement to begin burning. They want to remind residents that there are other ways to dispose of yard waste.
The burn ban in Fairview Heights was also lifted.
Anyone burning debris should use extreme caution.
