ST. LOUIS - Metro wants to hike train and bus fares in July.
The public transit agency is considering a $0.25 hike per train trip and increases of $6 to $8 for monthly bus and train passes.
Metro riders got to weigh in about the proposed fare hikes at a meeting Tuesday night. Metro says it needs an additional $2.2 million to cover the rising costs of things like fuel and health care for employees.
"People always say you should have charged us a little more rather than take the service away," said Ray Friem.
Metro will accept public comments in writing through the end of the week.
