Blues forward T.J. Oshie has been on a roll recently.
In February, he won a shoot-out against Team Russia while playing hockey for Team USA in the Sochi Olympics.
March 17, his fiancée Lauren Cosgrove gave birth to the couple's first child.
He's also playing some of the best hockey of his career.
But when he's not on the ice, Oshie and Lauren have been sitting at their infant daughter's hospital bed. Baby Lyla Grace Oshie was born with her intestines outside of her stomach. Doctors at St. Louis Children's Hospital started immediate treatment after she was born.
"She's been doing better than we could have ever hoped," says Lauren, in an interview with NBC's Ron Mott, that aired on the Today Show Friday morning.
"It was really upsetting," Lauren said. "It was tough at first."
But, she said of Oshie, "he's been my support. I'm usually a little more pessimistic and he's more optimistic."
Find out how the couple handled the birth of their first child, knowing she would need extensive medical treatment the moment she was born.
