ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – A St. Louis staple will be honored for its 50 years in business Tuesday afternoon.
Tuesday has been declared "Imo's Day" in the St. Louis area, and Mayor Francis Slay and St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley will honor the owners Ed and Margie Imo in a ceremony outside of Glazier's Hall, 5916 Wilson Avenue.
Imo's Pizza opened its doors in 1964 at Thurman and Shaw avenues in St. Louis, according to its website. The popular pizza place known for its thin-crust pizza topped with Provel cheese now has more than 90 stores throughout Missouri.
Imo's offers a special combo meal of a large one-topping pizza, toasted ravioli and garlic cheese bread for $19.64 to honor the year of its opening, according to its website.
