ST. LOUIS - A food truck for the homeless has launched in St. Louis.
Churches on the Street Ministries is passing out cold sandwiches every Thursday in the city.
The truck was donated by an anonymous supporter and volunteers handed out 80 meals Thursday. Church on the Street Ministries says the food truck puts them on the streets in a whole new way and expands their reach.
"We believe god says to help the poor and that's what were to do and also people need hope they need encouragement," said Angela Valdes.
"I think it's a great idea, this is the most amazing thing that's ever happened," said a man named Robert.
Volunteers plan to park the truck somewhere close to Soldiers' Memorial every week. The food itself is donated by local pantries and restaurants.
