Park will honor life of Willow Long
WATSON, Ill. - An Illinois community is coming together to honor the life of a 7-year-old girl.
Willow Long was found stabbed to death near her home in Watson last September. Her 22-year-old uncle pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and will spend the rest of his life in prison.
Now people in Effingham County are building a park in Willow's honor.
Tuesday night volunteers sent us photos of their progress. The group hopes to dedicate Willow Park on May 24.
If you would like to donate to help fund the park, donations can be sent to Fifth Third Bank, Attn: Willow Park Fund, 200 E. Jefferson Avenue, Effingham, Ill. 62401.
