BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KSDK) - A social security disability insurance claims services company laid off approximately 90 employees Thursday.

Allsup, which is headquartered in Belleville, Ill., is reorganizing its company to adjust to trends in the social security disability industry, which resulted in the layoffs, according to a statement released Thursday afternoon.

The company also discontinued its Medicare Secondary Payer Compliance services and reshaped its Medicare services.

Allsup offered a severance package to each person leaving, which included compensation, benefits and services, according to the statement.

The company will continue to operate its social security disability insurance representation, veterans disability appeal and Medicare coordination and Medicare plan selection services.
