ST. LOUIS – Three members of Missouri Task Force 1 have been deployed to Arkansas as part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency Incident Support Team to help with storm relief after several tornadoes hit the state Sunday.
The three members are already on the scene and staging at the Little Rock Air Force Base and are prepared to help. No formal request for assistance has been made by local jurisdictions, so control remains local.
A spokesperson says the team is prepared to be deployed for up to two weeks if necessary.
At least 14 people died Sunday during the tornado outbreak.
