ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Hundreds laced up their sneakers Sunday to help four-legged friends find new homes.

The Animal Protective Association held the Fast and Furriest run/walk at Tower Grove Park. More than 500 humans and 100 pets came out for the event.

It costs about $500 hundred a year to care for one animal, according to the APA, which is why fundraisers like this are so important.
