ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – The CIty of Wellston will have to wait a bit longer to find out the court's take on the city's mayor who was impeached and then re-elected to office.
The Wellston City Council impeached Mayor Linda Whitfield in March, but a few weeks later, she was re-elected to the position.
Wellston City Council members said they passed a law that says if you are impeached, then you can't hold an office in the City of Wellston.
She was impeached by the council on the basis of she gave herself a raise and conducted city business without council's approval.
The court session was moved to next week.
