Residents worry about aging gas lines in Soulard. Many of them have been replaced an upgraded recently.
ST. LOUIS - Families are living in fear months after an explosion rocked the Soulard neighborhood in St. Louis.
No one was hurt, however it caused many to wonder about the aging infrastructure and gas lines in the area.
Laclede Gas confirmed that an aging gas line did not cause the explosion that rocked an explosion near the corner of Shenandoah Avenue and Menard in February. Investigators say construction crews hit a gas line.
Many of the gas lines have been upgraded or replaced recently and the area is already scheduled for two pipeline replacements this year.
