GLENDALE, Mo. - The City of Glendale is considering major changes to its emergency dispatch system.

Last week, Glendale asked the East Central Dispatch Center in Olivette for a bid on what it would cost to have the center handle its 911 calls. Right now, Glendale employs three full-time dispatchers and three part-timers to do the work.

Glendale City Administrator Jaysen Christensen says his city's dispatch staff is the smallest in St. Louis County, and it would make sense for the city to explore outsourcing.

Christensen says the matter is in a preliminary stage and may be discussed briefly at Monday's board of alderman meeting.
