ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – Starting July 1, MetroLink riders will have to dole out a few more bucks after the Bi-State Development Agency Board of Commissioners approved a fare hike Friday morning.
The Metrolink one-ride cash fare will increase from $2.25 to $2.50 and for passes as follows: weekly passes increase from $25 to $27; monthly passes rise $72 to $78; semester pass will go up from $150 to $175.
The increase will not affect Metrobus fare, day pass or Metro Call-a-Ride.
The agency asked for public feedback of the fare increase, starting in March, through public hearings, meetings, online, phone, email and U.S. mail system.
The agency's goal is to increase passenger revenue by $2.25 million. Metro has implemented five fare increases since 2000. The last was in 2012.
