ST. CHARLES, Mo. - It's been one year since a St. Charles man disappeared in the Meramec River near Eureka, Missouri.

Jon Franklin's family is still searching for answers and for their loved one.

The day their son disappeared, Franklin's parents made a vow to find him.

Mother Nature made their search even harder. Hours after Franklin's disappearance, severe storms caused the Meramec to rise nearly 20 feet.

Currents made search and rescue efforts almost impossible. Despite the conditions the Franklins continued looking for weeks straight.

One year later, Jeff and Carol Franklin are still trying to fulfill their promise.

On Saturday, loved ones gathered at Route 66 State Park near Eureka to remember Jon and ask for help.

Every time the Franklins come to the state park they hang fliers with Jon's face and information to remind visitors their son is still out there somewhere.

Now each of Jon's family members carry a constant reminder of the young man they miss so much.

Many of his family members got a tattoo of the praying hands and the Psalm 'John 3:16' underneath it.
